The Resilient Communities Series - Event Organisation

Are you planning your first residential event and looking for some support?

Inspired by the things you’ve told us you need to support and strengthen your work. YHA Outdoor Citizens and All The Elements are partnering to run 4 online workshops funded by Sport England Together Fund.

In the fourth session “Event Organisation” Love Her Wild founder Bex Band will be joining us to support a community leader with the considerations needed to organise a successful residential event.

This is an opportunity to see how an event is developed and the different aspects that are involved, with a real-live event to show how these elements work in practice. This might include areas such as: risk assessments, insurance, choosing venue, travel, accessibility, creating safe spaces, food, etc.

Are you planning your first residential event? If so we’d love to hear from you and have you volunteer to be the organisation that Bex supports!

If you are chosen to take part you’ll meet (online) with Bex to talk over your event idea and discuss the elements of it that Bex will cover within the live session. You must be willing for the event you want to plan to be discussed publicly at the live online Resilient Communities event on September 21st and be able to attend the online event yourself. You will also need to be available for a call with Bex at a mutually convenient time in the next few weeks to give her the background to your event idea. You will then benefit from her insights of what the things you need to think about and get in place for the event would be.

If you are chosen as the volunteer for the event, you will receive the insights from Bex on your event and general guidelines on organising it, but Bex will not be available to organise the event for you and we will not be able to provide ongoing support for this at this time.

This training session would be best for a community leader who already has a community established and is looking to run their first residential event.

This event will take place online on the 21st September. Deadline to Apply 24th August.
