All The Elements Funding Opportunities and Resource Page - Now Live!

Are you looking for an up-to-date list of relevant funding providers who could support your work? We are excited to share that our brand new ‘Funding Opportunities and Resource Page ’is now live!

This resource was developed with support from Sport England through the Resilient Communities Series - an ATE event series in partnership with YHA Outdoor Citizens.

Introducing The Funding Opportunities and Resource Page

Many of you have shared with us that finding suitable funding opportunities for your organisation can be both time-consuming and overwhelming.

Built with you, the All The Elements community in mind, we’ve developed a funding directory specifically related to diversity, access and representation in the UK outdoors. The page includes a bespoke list of funding providers, with written descriptions for each opportunity based on your most frequently asked questions.

Featuring a range of opportunities, this page is now live on our website, making it easier for people working on diversity in the UK outdoors to find funding to support their work.

And this list of live funding opportunities is just the start! We understand that this source of funding is only a small percentage of many organisations' income streams, that it can be highly competitive, and that it isn’t right for everyone. That’s why, alongside updating the funding opportunities list, we’re also going to be developing resources, providing guidance on a wide range of potential income sources.

What you can find on the Funding Opportunities and Resource Page

Through the Funding Opportunities and Resource Page you’ll find key information for each funding opportunity, including:

  • A description written by the All The Elements team, highlighting key information about the opportunity and what it could be used for.

  • The amount you can apply for.

  • Whether the opportunity supports a particular location, diversity area or activity.

  • Whether you can apply for core funding, project-based funding - or both!

  • Registration status - for example whether you have to be a registered charity.

  • And the closing date.

How we Used Community Insight to Develop the Funding Page.

When we ask our community what challenges they are facing, “finding funding” is often at the top of the list. Developing the Funding Opportunities and Resource Page is a direct response to this need.

Drawing on insights from The Outdoor Connection 2025, an All The Elements event in partnership with YHA Outdoor Citizens, that brings leaders together for networking and skill sharing. Frankie Dewar, All The Elements Communications Director, analysed more than 20 questions raised by event participants about funding. Despite participants representing a range of activities, diversity areas, and stages of organisational growth, four key themes emerged from the data.

Key Theme 1: Where To Get Funding
Seeking to understand what funding is available and how to find it.

Key Theme 2: How To Get Funding
With questions around the process of finding or applying for funding rather than asking directly for examples of funds.

Key Theme 3: Funding Logistics
Focusing on the additional logistics of what needs to be in place to apply for grants or manage finances.

Key Theme 4: Development of an Effective Funding Model
These questions looked more broadly at different ways that work could be funded rather than focusing on grant funding.

Reflecting on the project, Frankie says: “The questions our community ask about funding and income are both hugely broad and very specific. It became clear early on that there wouldn’t be a single resource, training session or expert who we could call upon to meet their needs. Everyone in the community is different, and their funding models will likely reflect that.”

An Evolving Resource: Next Steps for the Funding Opportunities and Resource Page

Alongside our other resource pages and outdoor grassroots community directory, we will be continuing to develop this new page, ensuring it remains up to date with the latest grant and funding opportunities.

We will also be creating further resources over time, building a bank of content that responds to all four of the key themes identified. This will include providing information on other income streams, and funding models, developing practical how-to guides and signposting to a range of external resources.
