Komoot x All The Elements Community Fund Recipients

We are excited to share that All The Elements’ community members Trekkers UK and Queer Out Here are the two recipients of The komoot x All The Elements Community Fund.

What is the komoot x All The Elements Community Fund?

In partnership with komoot we created two £1000 pots of funding designed to support community groups to access the outdoors. Applications were welcomed from all diversity areas with a particular focus on groups who run, hike or cycle.

There were no restrictions on what could be applied for - as long as it enabled an outdoor adventure in some way. We had a range of different requests from the 35 community groups, every one of them an incredible example of the impact All The Elements members can have breaking down barriers to the outdoors.

It made it very difficult to select only two recipients - but we are delighted to be able to support the work of Trekkers UK and Queer Out Here.

Meet Trekkers UK

Large group of people from Trekkers UK stood outside on a group hike. They are stood on top of a hill and there are rolling hills in the background.

Trekkers UK is a grassroots community organisation dedicated to improving the mental, physical, and social wellbeing of Black and global majority adults aged 25-50, through nature connection and outdoor adventure. Serving inner-city communities in the West and East Midlands, Trekkers UK creates safe, inclusive spaces, offering a range of activities from  hikes and wellbeing walks to restorative retreats. They plan to use this grant on trips to the Peak District and other green spaces, essential outdoor gear, and first aid training for volunteers.

Meet Queer Out Here

Queer Out Here organises day excursions and holidays for queer people. They create queer-only spaces for people to meet new friends and share experiences together. Since starting in 2020, they have hosted over 40 events, helping many people discover the outdoors. They will be using the grant to support hikes for their trans and non-binary community, for resources, running costs, and travel bursaries.
