This fund is for organisations whose work supports people in their local area, helping them to widen their networks, reduce isolation and build confidence. The aim of the fund is to build stronger and healthier communities. An example of how this has been used in relation to outdoor activities in previous funding rounds is the Children’s Wood in Glasgow who provide free outdoor learning sessions to toddler groups and community gardening sessions. The Children’s Wood’s core team is supported by the fund providing 42% of the charity’s current annual salary bill.

The fund is open to applicants four times a year, and this round they are looking for applications from organisations from Birmingham, Dudley and Middlesbrough only. To be eligible to apply, your organisation’s annual income bust be between £25,000 and £1,000,000.
