The Green Roots fund if part of the Green Roots programme - a programme that aims to help nature thrive in London by supporting communities to transform their local spaces. It focuses on making the environment better for all Londoners, while addressing issues such as inequality, biodiversity loss and climate resilience.
This fund supports community projects that last up to 2 years and enhance blue and green spaces in London. They are looking to fund various types of projects in two categories:
Implementation work: activities that improve the physical space, eg- creation, improvement and restoration of green space, waterways, wetlands or other habitats, rewilding, tree planting, species reintroduction, and climate adaption measures.
Enabling work: activities like research, design, community engagement and more.
