6 Disability Campaigners You Should Know About

Within the All The Elements Community there are some incredible disability campaigners, activists and changemakers. 

To celebrate International Day of Persons With Disabilities, which was on Wednesday 3rd December 2025, we shared a series of articles amplifying the stories of six disability campaigners within our network. 

This articles shine a light on their work, celebrate their achievements and highlight the range of different ways people are working for change. Emma Harrison

Emma Harrison (she/her) is a physically disabled mountain leader and life coach that loves introducing people to the outdoors and helping them explore in a way that meets their needs. She uses her lived experience to create slower paced walks that focus on connecting people with their surroundings.

Bailey Smith

Bailey Smith (they/she) is a disabled, autistic, wheelchair user who advocates for equitable employment experiences and access to the outdoors. They also support organisations to create Accessibility videos which showcase the accessibility within parks, greenspaces, nature reserves, and more.

Debbie North

Debbie North (she/her) is the founder of Access the Dales, a charity that provides all-terrain mobility vehicles and runs events in the Yorkshire Dales and beyond. She is also the Cabinet Office Appointed Disability and Access Ambassador for the Countryside, working to influence policy and promote inclusive access across rural landscapes.

Mimi Jones

Mimi Jones (they/he) is a multiply disabled, trans and neuroqueer activist. They are the founder of Queer Out Loud, a queer support network with regular performance nights, a Director of NeuDICE, a neurodivergent support network and showcase what life is like for disabled people via their social media and writing.

Pip and Clare Millington

Pip and Clare (she/her) are a mum and daughter duo that raise awareness about the importance of supporting learning-disabled people in the outdoors. Championing the message that access should move beyond organised groups, to provide individuals the freedom to choose the outdoor hobbies they love, whilst being supported to pursue them throughout adulthood.

Spenser Gray

Spenser Gray (he/him) chairs the BMC's Technical Committee. As part of this role he is currently working to create a centralised hub for information, supporting the participation of disabled and neurodivergent people in rock climbing, mountaineering and hill walking activities.
