Celebrating Multi-Year Funding From The Esmée Fairbairn Foundation

We are delighted to have on-going support from the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation as we enter our second year of multi-year funding and the third year supported by their grants.

We received an initial grant to All The Elements in early 2024, which allowed us to start to stabilise our work and offerings. In March 2025, we were then awarded multi-year core funding from the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, with a £100,000 per year grant for three years to support our core costs.

In a societal and funding landscape that we know is tricky for many nonprofits, we are grateful for the continued support and the opportunity to continue to support the ATE community. We do not take this for granted and continue to explore all the ways we can best provide value to everyone working on diversity in the UK outdoors.

About The Esmée Fairbairn Foundation

Aligned with our goals and values as an organization, the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation aims to improve our natural world, secure a fairer future and strengthen the bonds in communities in the UK.

The Foundation is one of the largest independent grant-makers in the UK. In 2024, they provided £48.8m in funding towards a range of work that supports their aims. They also provide social and impact investment for organisations with the aim of creating social and environmental impact.

How This Funding Supports Our Work

The funding we receive from the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation directly supports our part-time team, securing our core capacity. Throughout the last year this has enabled us to re-balance and re-centre in a time that is particularly challenging for the community we serve. We have focused on our core aims and worked on the next evolution of our regular offerings - strengthening, adjusting and realigning based on feedback from the ATE community.

Moving forward we’re excited to look again at increasing our capacity, growing our team and developing offerings to support our community as the landscape continues to shift around us. The continuation of the work feels more important than ever in the current climate.
