Session 1: How to get paid

Getting started with core funding

When: Wednesday 3rd June, 7:00pm - 8:00pm

Session Description: This event is tailored to organisations who have previously received a small amount of funding for projects and are now looking to understand how to either pay themselves or their first employee.

The session will focus on the "How" of going from project to core funding, exploring the different income streams that could make this possible.

Facilitated by Get Grants trainer Sam Davis (she/her)

Sam Davis brings first-hand experience from all corners of the sector – as a fundraiser, funder, and charity leader – having delivered frontline activities as well as infrastructure support to other organisations.

Alongside delivering Get Grants Bid Writing and Bid Writing for Sports & Physical Activity Training Courses, Sam has been the Operations Manager at a major regional funder. Her previous roles include CEO, Community Partnerships Manager, and Development Officer within both charitable and statutory organisations.

She’s also a Trustee of a Birmingham-based sports charity and is passionate about building sustainability and resilience in the non-profit sector – because really, it should be a no-brainer to fund these amazing organisations!

Outside of work, Sam’s a passionate netballer and keeps those endorphins flowing by running (very slowly!) in her spare time.
